History: He was born into a rich family. A gypsy cursed him at a young age, leading to his ugly appearance. He knows his nephew is from a royal line that had remained secret for centuries, but promised not to tell anyone. So far, no-one knows but him.

History: From birth she was tutored by a cruel and relentless mentor. A gifted student she started as a Miner, but she got bored and became a Hunter. She has set out to sabotage the competition.

Motivation: He feels that his past leaves him morally obligated to help; and meet up once more with his childhood friend
