History: Born the oldest of a large religious northern family, she was no stranger to responsibility. Egelina abandoned her home at a very young age, living in the fields and plains. She survived everyday through hunting and stealing from passersby. She did whatever it took for her to survive. Personality: He resents people who mock his appearance or him, so he has learned to be the meanest son of a gun. When he's not drinking or sleeping the drinks off, he's doing writing.

History: He was born a particularly ugly child, much to the horror of his parents. At some point he was captured by brigands and was tortured. After several years of this he finally managed to escape. He has taken up leadership of the village's small militia in response to brigands demanding more tribute than usual.

Motivation: Many brigands want him driven away; and someone believes him a fraud

History: Her parents moved while she was still in utero so she is the first generation to be born here. A gypsy cursed her at a young age, leading to her ugly appearance. She has made many enemies by not giving into corruption and outing many instances of it.
