Personality: A skeptical and narcissistic woman, Birel's first love is herself. Her second love is also herself. She is terrible with names forgetting people's names several times before they finally stick; this causes her no end of embarrassment.

History: Raised by wardens she was only a novice when dire rats swooped upon their monastery and killed most of the order. Since her father passed away years ago, her mother had doted on her, and she came to think her herself as special and better than other people in town. A notion that was reinforced by her attractiveness, a trait in which she easily excels the other women of her town. Days after completing her studies, news broke out that her hometown was attacked by dire rats. Birel was horrified and prayed that her mother was alright. However, she heard that her mother had died fighting off the dire rats.

History: She was born the only child of a wealthy merchant. Her spouse left her for another, whom she beat to an almost bloody pulp. She did not win them back, but she came to a realization. To get what you want from life, you must take it. Since then, she has sought to make the best of life.

Personality: He is a pretentious jerk insisting that modern society is full of problems and should revert to a simpler time. Animals are drawn to him, and he is able to talk to them.

History: He was a bastard born out of an affair, and his mother always resented and mistreated him for it out of spite. A gypsy cursed him at a young age, leading to his ugly appearance. He used his abilities to travel the world and help people.

History: Uraim was born the youngest of three triplets. Being born in the east, he completed his medical training abroad so as to avoid the war. He returned after the war having achieved medical proficiency. He was a general practitioner in the east for years, until he, through no fault of his own, lost a patient who had a very powerful family. Rather than risk reprisal he made his way west. When his spouse passed he lost his only source of income but claims to his sons to still be retired.
