Personality: Abrasive and pushy, she has a hard time making friends. Her respect, as difficult as one would find it to earn, is unwavering; those who more than prove themselves to her, a bar set well above any reasonable standard, she tolerates in varying degrees. Though less modest and more hasty in her reactions to snap at those who irritate her, Gurdis is combative with any and all who dare try her patience in the slightest.

History: Born in the north her family was never financially stable. While she appears to be a normal Dwarf, she's... not quite right. Perhaps she's slightly insane, or otherwise so mentally alien to the rest of the world that she plain doesn't fit in. She was betrayed by a partner and left for dead, teaching her a humbling lesson in trusting others.

Personality: Aggressive, abrasive, and angry, Purban embodies much of what other species detest in the Halflings. He has a hair trigger and will fly into rage over the tiniest perceived slights.

History: He was born into a rich family. Through the years after Purban was born, his father became increasingly distant from his family, instead choosing to pursue power in the north. Purban's father didn't care for him much, and the feeling was mutual. Recently he has begun working with bootleggers and crooks.

Motivation: He has decided he is irredeemable.

History: He was born several months after his father was called into army service. While studying, he fell in love. They married and had a daughter. He was recently attacked on the road and savagely beaten by bandits.

Motivation: Wishes to resurrect an old love.

History: Her parents moved while she was still in utero so she is the first generation to be born here. Harriet was born on a far eastern plains where she grew up under the tutelage of her father, an expert Miner. She left for the east, certain she would find work there.

Personality: She is quiet and anti-social and can barely make it a few minutes in conversation before her hampering stammer kicks in. She dislikes loud distracting noises, but is overall hospitable. Her biggest love is that of knowledge and as such will purchase any books or pay to listen to tales that travelers might have.

History: She was raised in a white middle class family as the only child. A gypsy cursed her at a young age, leading to her ugly appearance. Unlike her family, who was content to work in a sleepy main town, she wanted to work in the city. She has been working here for the past few years.

Motivation: To end her boredom.
