History: The child of a Cook, who enjoyed hunting, Nicholas was taken on many hunting expeditions. He always admired arcane-users and wanted to develop the talent, but never had the affinity for it. Recently a tribe of brigands attacked the village and all able bodies who could hold a blade were quickly armed and sent to the walls. Nicholas fought at the side of some of the regions greatest heroes but was never overshadowed.

History: She was born into a rich family. She dropped out of school before completing her studies. She knows her nephew is from a royal line that had remained secret for centuries, but promised not to tell anyone. So far, no-one knows but her.

She was a general practitioner in the east for years, until she, through no fault of her own, lost a patient who had a very powerful family. Rather than risk reprisal she made her way north. She was granted arcane powers by her dying sister.

History: Her mother raised her in a mountain cabin. She worked as a nervous Architect and found it very stressful. She now owns her own business.
