History: His parents moved while he was still in utero so he is the first generation to be born here. His parents divorced when he was young, and his father gained full cudstody. He was regularly beaten by his father, who blamed him for driving them apart. After a long history of fighting, Smoking and his spouse have recently divorced.

Personality: Alain is a sociable creature first and foremost. She loves to listen to people at length before talking their ear off. She can carry on conversation for hours and will do so. Further she is a bit of a stoner and is frequently out of it.

History: Born to a poor family in the city she treasured whatever gifts she got. When money was particularly tight she was walking through alleys when she overheard a Bowyer hiring some criminals to sabotage a competitor. She made her way to the other competitor and parlayed her knowledge into a job. She was recently attacked on the road and savagely beaten by bandits.

Motivation: Expand her business; and she is currently in port desperately looking for someone to get her out

History: He was born to loving parents in a slum to the east. In his 13th year, his parents were killed by a dire rats raid, leaving Thomas alone in the world. After a stint in an orphanage, he was adopted. He has been saving his money to try and buy his brother's freedom.

Motivation: To reunite with his absent mother; and his relatives are trying to arrange a marriage

History: He was born the only child of a wealthy merchant. While studying, he fell in love. They married and had a son. He now has a substantial network of resources ranging from contacts to ships to peers.

History: Born in the east to a Cook, Jane learned a great deal about her mother's area of expertise. From her teen years she was always beautiful and desirable, so people have always doted on her. She has gone from town to town till she finds a spot where she can set up a sustainable business.
