History: Ekk hails from a village terrorized by goblins. At a young age both her parents were killed in an accident. Her uncle (a powerful person with enemies on both sides of the law) took her in and had her trained in basic self defense. Recently she has begun working with bootleggers and crooks.

Motivation: Her name or reputation has been wronged in the past by goblins, and she desires to right it; and a rival would like her out of the picture

History: Born the oldest of a large religious western family, she was no stranger to responsibility. In her 12th year, her parents were killed by a drow raid, leaving Quelenna alone in the world. After a stint in an orphanage, she was adopted. After a long history of fighting, Quelenna and her spouse have recently divorced.

History: Sold as a small child to a necromancer, Kite was an assistant, and all too frequently test subject. He eventually earned his freedom when his former master disappeared. He was married off to the eldest child of a minor noble. His spouse died of illness and he inherited everything. He has since lost track of the people in his past.

Motivation: To share knowledge with the world; and regain custody of his daughter
