When money was particularly tight she was walking through alleys when she overheard a Bellfounder hiring some criminals to sabotage a competitor. She made her way to the other competitor and parlayed her knowledge into a job. After a long history of fighting, Avelina and her spouse have recently divorced.

History: Sammal was raised in a hard working conservative environment. He was an adventurer many years ago and he formed a blood bond with his Gnomish companion (his 'brother'). He has made many enemies by not giving into corruption and outing many instances of it.
