During her early adolescence, she took a sudden opportunity while working the docks and commandeered a vessel that was left unmanned. Being a Barber kept her interest for a while, but then she became depressed and bored. So she turned to a secret life of crime, taking increasingly more risks and challenges.

Perhaps she's slightly insane, or otherwise so mentally alien to the rest of the world that she plain doesn't fit in. Unlike her family, who was content to work in a sleepy main town, she wanted to work in the city. She has been working here for the past few years.
