History: Roland was raised in a hard working conservative environment. He was an apprentice working in his father's forge. He has been saving his money to try and buy his brother's freedom.

Motivation: Someone believes him a fraud; and many goblins want him driven away

Description: This late middle aged man prefers to wear flannel and is in decent physical shape. He wears a wide-brimmed hat to hide his balding. Judging by the bloodshot nature of his eyes and the massive bags underneath them one would imagine he has not slept for days.

Personality: He considers himself a man of culture and sophistication. He likes a good challenge to his wits. He is afraid of women and trembles around them

History: He was raised in a white middle class family as the only child. He couldn't stand his childhood mentor and eventually formed a pact with his mentor's previously failed apprentice to rebel. When their plan failed the mentor lashed out against both of them and fled. Unlike his family, who was content to work in a sleepy main town, he wanted to work in the city. He has been working here for the past few years.

Motivation: He is content; and he seems to be bored by most things

Description: She is a husky woman, who is dressed in an above average manner. Her silver hair is heavily combed to the left. Her fierce green eyes like to dwell on things.

Personality: She runs her personal life as if detached from it. She organizes appointments and outings based on perceived benefits she will get from it. She believes the world needs to unite to get rid of illithids once and for all.

History: The child of a Beggar, who enjoyed hunting, Xanaphia was taken on many hunting expeditions. As a young child she wandered into the woods despite her father's warnings against it. Afterwards she claimed she had encountered illithids who tried to eat her hand. She has taken up leadership of the village's small militia in response to illithids demanding more tribute than usual.

Motivation: Revenge.

Personality: She considers herself the protector of her home. She feels this is her duty and calling. More though she will beg to come along on any journeys. She will attempt to stowaway on any ship she can in the hopes that it will get her further away.

History: Born to a pair of adventurers, Antinua grew up listening to her mother's many stories. A gifted student she started as a Detective, but she got bored and became a Sailor. She has worked as a Sailor like her mother before her.

Motivation: Wants to open a new tavern; and a strong sense of loyalty to gnomish people
