Sumnes grew up in the orphanage, tormented by the older kids and famished from lack of food. To avoid death by starvation, most orphans take to a life of crime or prostitution (often both), and so did Sumnes. Recently she has begun working with bootleggers and crooks.

History: He was always a brilliant, if unscrupulous mind. When money was particularly tight he was walking through alleys when he overheard a Marshal hiring some criminals to sabotage a competitor. He made his way to the other competitor and parlayed his knowledge into a job. He has drifted from career to career and currently works as a Marshal.

He was a general practitioner in the north for years, until he, through no fault of his own, lost a patient who had a very powerful family. Rather than risk reprisal he made his way west. He is searching for what he claims is his rightful reward.
