Her uncle (a powerful person with enemies on both sides of the law) took her in and had her trained in basic self defense. History: A powerful slaver made him what he is. He has had some formal poetry training, and achieved minor success. He has never given up on his poetry dream.

She lacks moral complications. She does what she is told to by employers but not much else. She spends her money on whatever she fancies at the time.
