History: Born in the south her family was never financially stable. In her 15th year, her parents were killed by a drow raid, leaving Dalaba alone in the world. After a stint in an orphanage, she was adopted. She has taken up leadership of the village's small militia in response to drow demanding more tribute than usual.

Motivation: Several ex partners dislike her way of doing things and want revenge.

History: When he was but 6 years old his parents immigrated from the east. A gypsy cursed him at a young age, leading to his ugly appearance. He left for the east, certain he would find work there.

History: He was born the only child of a wealthy merchant. His parents died when he was young, and he was unceremoniously dumped in the city orphanage. Nicholas grew up in the orphanage, tormented by the older kids and famished from lack of food. To avoid death by starvation, most orphans take to a life of crime or prostitution (often both), and so did Nicholas. He has been a successful dealer in antiques buying low and selling high.

Motivation: He has decided he is irredeemable; and he feels that his past leaves him morally obligated to help
