History: Born to a pair of adventurers, Bernard grew up listening to his father's many stories. A few years later when the north was not economically sound they moved to his current location. He now spends his time doing works of charity.

History: His parents moved while he was still in utero so he is the first generation to be born here. Like his mother and his sister before him, after school he went straight into learning to become a Marshal. He has set out to sabotage the competition.

Personality: He is quite rude, and likes to deride his opponents skill and shout insults at them. Oloric enjoys physical pleasures, and is well known for his love of warm baths in the hot springs near the town.

History: Oloric lived on a farm with his mother, near the main road leading to a nearby town. Being born in the west, he completed his medical training abroad so as to avoid the war. He returned after the war having achieved medical proficiency. He was a general practitioner in the west for years, until he, through no fault of his own, lost a patient who had a very powerful family. Rather than risk reprisal he made his way north. He has since lost track of the people in his past.

Motivation: Find a way to reverse the transformation of his sister; and his relatives are trying to arrange a marriage

Personality: This woman loves writing and to teach people writing more than just about anything. She has a taste for the finer things and spends a great deal of money on luxuries, some more exotic than others.

History: Sold as a small child to a slaver, Jillian was an assistant, and all too frequently test subject. She eventually earned her freedom when her former master disappeared. She struck it rich when she found rare goods in large quantities. She hasn't been sleeping well lately.

History: She was born to a criminal king-pin and mafia family While she appears to be a normal Halfling, she's... not quite right. Perhaps she's slightly insane, or otherwise so mentally alien to the rest of the world that she plain doesn't fit in. She has built up a small fortune and can afford her own way.

Motivation: A rival would like her out of the picture.
