History: His father raised him in a mountain cabin. At some point he was captured by drow and was tortured. After several years of this he finally managed to escape. Days after completing his studies, news broke out that his hometown was attacked by drow. Baern was horrified and prayed that his father was alright. However, he heard that his father had died fighting off the drow.

Motivation: A deep hatred of drow; and his name or reputation has been wronged in the past by drow, and he desires to right it

History: She was born to loving parents in a slum to the north. While studying, she fell in love. They married and had a daughter. She has since married many spouses, only to have them die. She claims to not be responsible.

Motivation: To get a good night's sleep; and she is compelled to act according to her religious beliefs
