History: Born in the north to a Soapmaker, Varis learned a great deal about his mother's area of expertise. His parents divorced when he was young, and his mother gained full cudstody. He was regularly beaten by his mother, who blamed him for driving them apart. He has set out to sabotage the competition.

Description: This man is unhealthily muscled, almost every single one of his veins is visible when he is not flexing. Judging by the bloodshot nature of his eyes and the massive bags underneath them one would imagine he has not slept for days.

Personality: He loves telling others what to do and how they should feel about things. He is a great chef.

History: The child of southern immigrants he idolized his mother. Aside from being a slave or a gladiator, there isn't much legitimate work for Gnomes in Rimple's homeland. Rimple decided to take the middle way and become a bodyguard. He hasn't been sleeping well lately.

Personality: She is quite gentle and does not know the full extent of her strength. She works very hard to maintain that gentleness. She is obsessed with a lost civilization.

History: Her arcane talent manifested at a young age. Aiming to upstage a rival house, her parents had her trained. In her formative years she discovered how persuasive she was. She began using that to her advantage selling useless wares at inflated prices. She spent several years traveling with her friend, before both settled down to enjoy the fruits of their adventures.

Motivation: Retire the richest woman in the north.

Personality: She has always had a great fascination with Human culture. She invites people to come help in her community garden.

History: She was born with several neurological imbalances, which makes sleep difficult for her. It may also be what makes her so good at details. She always admired necromantic-users and wanted to develop the talent, but never had the affinity for it. She was granted necromantic powers by her dying brother.

Personality: A grumpy guy he will invite people to lunch so he can critique them. Yet he still seems generally likeable, like a lovable grump. His home and work are filled with various knick knacks he has acquired through the years. He cares a great deal for his adopted teenage daughter.

History: He was born to a wealthy landowner in a frontier town, living a normal and happy childhood. He has chosen to use the inheritance that was left to him frivolously. He was betrayed by a partner and left for dead, teaching him a humbling lesson in trusting others.

Motivation: He has money and likes to spend it; and find a way to reverse the transformation of his sister
