In her 14th year, her parents were killed by a orcs raid, leaving Keyleth alone in the world. After a stint in an orphanage, she was adopted. She remains aloof and afraid to be herself due to all the ideals others have placed upon her.

Her home and work are filled with various knick knacks she has acquired through the years. She cares a great deal for her adopted teenage daughter.

Being born in the south, she completed her medical training abroad so as to avoid the war. She returned after the war having achieved medical proficiency. She was a general practitioner in the south for years, until she, through no fault of her own, lost a patient who had a very powerful family. Rather than risk reprisal she made her way west. Due to her spouse's obsession with being a Crown-heir they were divorced and she won custody of their daughter. She worked as a Slave Trader, and she later adopted a second daughter.

She took every job she could get her hands on, but the opportunities for Half-Elves in the south were limited. When her spouse passed she lost her only source of income but claims to her daughters to still be retired.
