Zook grew up in the orphanage, tormented by the older kids and famished from lack of food. To avoid death by starvation, most orphans take to a life of crime or prostitution (often both), and so did Zook. He now travels the world, in search of power and loot.

She has the appearance of someone under the heavy influence of drugs.

Personality: Aggressive, abrasive, and angry, Mardred embodies much of what other species detest in the Dwarves. She does suffer from mild PTSD, and the sight of giants may trigger it at times.

History: Sold as a small child to a slaver, Mardred was an assistant, and all too frequently test subject. She eventually earned her freedom when her former master disappeared. Her first spouse was a Scribe, they had one son, but her spouse won total custody. Without her spouse to temper her she grew out of control. Due to her spouse's obsession with being a Scribe they were divorced and she won custody of their son. She worked as a Gardener, and she later adopted a second son.

Personality: She is a jovial happy person, but she is convinced people are living their lives too quickly. She is accommodating to her spouse and as such limits her hospitality. She is brave and levelheaded in the face of danger and has proven herself a capable leader.

History: Born in the north to a Engraver, Caramip learned a great deal about her mother's area of expertise. She was an apprentice working in her mother's forge. She then took over the family business and is one of the better Engraver for hire.

History: He comes from a rich southern family. He has chosen to use the inheritance that was left to him frivolously. He now mingles about in high society.

Motivation: He has money and likes to spend it; and he is greedy

Personality: She never swears and excessively uses polite adverbs when speaking. She is submissive, is generally bored by everything, but will take part in whatever people ask of her. She is by nature obliging.

History: Her history is one of pain. She was disowned by both parents and raised among the slaves her parents kept. She was an athlete and attended two major summer competitions. She never won. She was recently attacked on the road and savagely beaten by bandits.

Motivation: Wants to have a good time and be beloved; and she is currently in port desperately looking for someone to get her out
