History: She was born to loving parents in a slum to the south. Aside from being a slave or a gladiator, there isn't much legitimate work for Halflings in Verna's homeland. Verna decided to take the middle way and become a bodyguard. She became a Bookbinder soon after.

Her father taught her the rudiments of the Dyer arts, while her mother instructed her in etiquette, music and courtly manner. She was married off to the eldest child of a minor noble. Her spouse died of illness and she inherited everything. She has achieved small success as a Dyer.
