One night she noticed a nearby shooting star which she hiked out to see where it landed. It turned out to be an ancient artifact of some kind. She has done her darndest to repair it but it is currently non-functional.

Motivation: She feels the way she acts is they only way to get by in the world; and marry her sister to traveling adventurers

History: Gilbert was raised in a hard working conservative environment. Being born in the south, he completed his medical training abroad so as to avoid the war. He returned after the war having achieved medical proficiency. He was a general practitioner in the south for years, until he, through no fault of his own, lost a patient who had a very powerful family. Rather than risk reprisal he made his way north. When his spouse passed he lost his only source of income but claims to his daughters to still be retired.

History: Her parents moved while she was still in utero so she is the first generation to be born here. Brilliant and gifted she never wanted to apply herself. She left for the south, certain she would find work there.

Motivation: A strong sense of loyalty to Tiefling people; and she made a deal with a demon which lead to her current lot in life, and she's becoming increasingly nervous about it
