Because his mother participated in the massacre of their homeland, giants burned their ranch to the ground and forced them out. He was preparing to flee to the south, but the outbreak of war prevented him and his father from journeying south to reunite his family. When his spouse passed he lost his only source of income but claims to his daughters to still be retired.

She routinely visits covens of witches but complains that many are fraudulent and lack true knowledge of magic.
