The brigands captured him, and made him a slave and general play-thing. He was beaten and tortured regularly, leading to his deformed appearance. Days after completing his studies, news broke out that his hometown was attacked by brigands. Az-Rans was horrified and prayed that his father was alright. However, he heard that his father had died fighting off the brigands.

History: Trained by his mother for as long as he can remember he had it drilled in his head that it was his duty to serve his country. At a young age he wooed the heart of his future spouse and the two had a long relationship before they wed. Some 6 years later his spouse died after the birth of his daughter. Heartbroken, Ratanák never married again. Instead he focused his life to raising his daughter whom he trained as his mother had trained him before.
