History: Born the oldest of a large religious northern family, he was no stranger to responsibility. History: Raised by wardens he was only a novice when dire rats swooped upon their monastery and killed most of the order. He took after his father in leading caravans. Because they were valued, his father taught him to defend himself. When his father died while fighting dire rats, the young Gilbert began to lead the lost caravan. He has built up a small fortune and can afford his own way.

Without his spouse to temper him he grew out of control. He eventually got the idea of being the protector of his homeland from reading books, and has made it his duty.
