Personality: He runs his personal life as if detached from it. He organizes appointments and outings based on perceived benefits he will get from it. The war was a terrible time for him, and Bertram does not often speak of it. When he does, he does so with a strained expression and tears in his eyes.

History: He was born several months after his mother was called into army service. When Bertram reached his early adolescence his Human mother passed away. Feeling disconnected from the small nearby village afterwards, he decided to travel. His rounds led him into the Army with a few individuals who would become his life-long companions. He's since become an addict/alcoholic.

History: He is the product a well kept family trust fund and as such has never really known need. His mother had invested heavily in several trade routes and wanted him to inherit them. He knows his nephew is from a royal line that had remained secret for centuries, but promised not to tell anyone. So far, no-one knows but him.

Personality: She likes to make people angry or surprised. She invented a lineage for herself and claims to be descended from several legendary heroes.

History: She was born the only child of a wealthy merchant. She was a friend to animals and a trickster. In her defense of animals however she would do severe harm to people. She now has a substantial network of resources ranging from contacts to ships to peers.

Motivation: She has passion for adventuring and risk; and retire the richest woman in the north

Description: An older man who wears a well pressed and immaculate suit (or dress), he is not a threatening figure. His white hair is matted, messy, and big. This brown eyed easterner is not easily forgotten.

Personality: He resents people who mock his appearance or him, so he has learned to be the meanest son of a gun. He receives visions of the future at random moments

History: Born to a Ploughman, his mother struggled to pay the bills. A gifted student he started as a Ploughman, but he got bored and became a Herbalist. He struck the Herbalist job and began his own company from there.

Motivation: To get a good night's sleep; and sabotage a competitor

Personality: He fancies himself a trickster and likes to rely on his wits to carry the day. He cares for his older siblings and likes to be recognized by them. He disdains his fellow westerners, claiming they make him look unintelligent just for using an accent.

History: He served in the navy to pay for his family's outstanding loans. Aside from being a slave or a gladiator, there isn't much legitimate work for Halflings in Burto's homeland. Burto decided to take the middle way and become a bodyguard. Recently a tribe of orcs attacked the village and all able bodies who could hold a blade were quickly armed and sent to the walls. Burto fought at the side of some of the regions greatest heroes but was never overshadowed.

Motivation: Regain custody of his daughter; and find a way to reverse the transformation of his brother
