He quickly showed his capability and was soon promoted to a head role. Some 8 years later his spouse died after the birth of his daughter. Heartbroken, Gorbundus never married again. Instead he focused his life to raising his daughter whom he trained as his father had trained him before.

Motivation: Wants to open a new tavern; and balancing his hectic life and new shoemaker responsibilities is difficult

The mother sought out extralegal help and others began closing their doors. He saw this and took pride in his mother's willingness to do anything to win. He moves from town to town, unable to find a place to settle.

Motivation: A rival would like him out of the picture.
