History: Smoking lived on a farm with his mother, near the main road leading to a nearby town. In his 15th year, while out on a day-trip, he returned to find his hometown burning and destroyed. He found his mother impaled in their home, and his father beheaded. He saw the man who walked out, and charged him in a blind rage. The man easily evaded and defeated him, leaving him to live broken and terrified. He has worked as a Stableman like his mother before him.

History: She was born the only child of a wealthy merchant. Her father was supposedly a charlatan fortune teller, but she insists her father was legitimate. She now has a substantial network of resources ranging from contacts to ships to peers.

Motivation: Her religion dominates her actions.

History: A child with a great deal of painting talent her parents made sure she got the chance to thrive. Ostracized due to the psionic powers of her oldest brother, she and her siblings struck out on their own. In the process these unassuming Gnomes became a terror of the countryside. She remains aloof and afraid to be herself due to all the ideals others have placed upon her.

Personality: She is a hateful person. She taunts others and blames them for her problems. She does suffer from mild PTSD, and the sight of brigands may trigger it at times.

History: Born to a Fortune-teller, her mother struggled to pay the bills. Her parents divorced when she was young, and her mother gained full cudstody. She was regularly beaten by her mother, who blamed her for driving them apart. She has taken up leadership of the village's small militia in response to brigands demanding more tribute than usual.
