History: Sold as a small child to a brothel owner, Theren was an assistant, and all too frequently test subject. He eventually earned his freedom when his former master disappeared. He sought a place where he would be rewarded solely on the merits of his skills. This search led him directly into Interpreter work with an outfit from a few towns over. Interpreter work suited him well, and with each successful project, he earned more gold and more respect from his peers. He was recently attacked on the road and savagely beaten by bandits.

Personality: He barks his statements quickly and with little fuss. He prefers small words and is at his heart utilitarian. He does not trust anyone and sleeps with one eye open.

History: He was raised happily, as a normal child born to his mother and father. His mother taught him the rudiments of the Courier arts, while his father instructed him in etiquette, music and courtly manner. He couldn't stand his childhood mentor and eventually formed a pact with his mentor's previously failed apprentice to rebel. When their plan failed the mentor lashed out against both of them and fled. He hasn't been sleeping well lately.

Personality: She is irascible and easily irritated. Any perceived weakness will be pressed and exploited. She is seen as merciless and passionate.

History: She was a bastard born out of an affair, and her mother always resented and mistreated her for it out of spite. As a very small child her family refused to pay dues to a local crime lord, who ordered them killed. Her father, a somewhat powerful mage sought to protect her and cast a teleportation spell that whisked her away. She now travels the world, in search of power and loot.

Motivation: Wants to open a new tavern; and she has comitted a past crime that haunts her to this day

Personality: She believes there is no problem she cannot solve with sufficient elbow grease and persistence, if it is the best or most economic solution matters not. On top of that she is swayed by a pretty face, and while loyalty to her employer will always come first she doesn't like to hit women.

History: A powerful brothel owner made her what she is. Her father had invested heavily in several trade routes and wanted her to inherit them. She now mingles about in high society.

Personality: She is curt in most of her responses. She prefers to keep her word usage to a minimum to avoid giving away unnecessary information. Her job bores her to no end. She has decided to make it more interesting.

History: Born to a pair of adventurers, Maiathah grew up listening to her mother's many stories. Her parents died when she was young, and she was unceremoniously dumped in the city orphanage. Maiathah grew up in the orphanage, tormented by the older kids and famished from lack of food. To avoid death by starvation, most orphans take to a life of crime or prostitution (often both), and so did Maiathah. Being a Cook kept her interest for a while, but then she became depressed and bored. So she turned to a secret life of crime, taking increasingly more risks and challenges.

Motivation: A need for knowledge about a nearby landmark.
