River was left her mother's suit of armor and trained in its use and care. Due to her spouse's obsession with being a Server they were divorced and she won custody of their daughter. She worked as a Sailor, and she later adopted a second daughter.

She found her mother impaled in their home, and her father beheaded. She saw the woman who walked out, and charged her in a blind rage. The woman easily evaded and defeated her, leaving her to live broken and terrified. She became a plane-shifter, and is stopping over on this plane for a brief visit.
