History: He was born blind and as such lacked many opportunities for work. Cursed with a spirit at a very young age, Melech has worked very hard to control his curse. He has taken up leadership of the village's small militia in response to illithids demanding more tribute than usual.

Motivation: His name or reputation has been wronged in the past by illithids, and he desires to right it.
