His family became saddled with debt trying to care for his infirm father. He has built up a small fortune and can afford his own way.

Description: A middle-aged man, he wears suspenders and pastel workpants. His shirt is violet, and he wears a heavy pastel leather apron most of the time, and is pretty ugly. His gray fur is thinning but still full. He wears large thick round spectacles.

Personality: A deeply religious man he believes everything happens for a reason. He moves from fascination to fascination almost instantaneously. If something can keep his interest for a month it is impressive.

History: Shifting was raised in a hard working conservative environment. Shifting was a troubled youth. He spent his days as a hard laborer instead of attending school, and spent his evenings with numerous mobsters and gang members. Shifting decided he wanted neither the life of his mother nor that of the evil petty criminals he associated with. During his early adolescence, he took a sudden opportunity while working the docks and commandeered a vessel that was left unmanned. He struck the Layabout job and began his own company from there.

Personality: She considers herself a woman of culture and sophistication. She likes a good challenge to her wits. She tends to be very friendly, and is drawn to music, the smells of food and wine, and out-door festivals.

History: She was raised happily, as a normal child born to her father and mother. Her father taught her the rudiments of the Spy arts, while her mother instructed her in etiquette, music and courtly manner. She struck it rich when she found rare goods in large quantities. When her spouse passed she lost her only source of income but claims to her daughters to still be retired.
