History: She was born blind and as such lacked many opportunities for work. A freak accident while working with her Courier mother left her crippled. During her travels, Mastema and her party rested in a cavern that was (unknown to them) infused with powerful dark magic. Upon awakening, Mastema discovered the rest of her party dead, transformed into horrible, mindless undead versions of their former selves. Mastema fled the cavern, stopping for breath at a small pool, and only then realizing her own horrible transformation.
