She was a general practitioner in the west for years, until she, through no fault of her own, lost a patient who had a very powerful family. Rather than risk reprisal she made her way east. She has dedicated herself to building a better trade route.

Personality: A skeptical and narcissistic woman, Althaea's first love is herself. Her second love is also herself. She tends to be very friendly, and is drawn to music, the smells of food and wine, and out-door festivals.

History: She was raised by priests from a young age. She couldn't stand her childhood mentor and eventually formed a pact with her mentor's previously failed apprentice to rebel. When their plan failed the mentor lashed out against both of them and fled. Since then, she has sought to make the best of life.
