History: Raised by wardens he was only a novice when dire rats swooped upon their monastery and killed most of the order. His mother was supposedly a charlatan fortune teller, but he insists his mother was legitimate. He has taken up leadership of the village's small militia in response to dire rats demanding more tribute than usual.

Motivation: Several ex partners dislike his way of doing things and want revenge.

History: She was born in a small mountains village. A gifted student she started as a Bounty Hunter, but she got bored and became a Engraver. She then took over the family business and is one of the better Engraver for hire.

Motivation: She wants to meet her childhood hero; and expand her business

Personality: Trail is a sociable creature first and foremost. She loves to listen to people at length before talking their ear off. She can carry on conversation for hours and will do so. She plays an instrument quite well.

History: Born to a pair of adventurers, Trail grew up listening to her mother's many stories. She moved from fad to fad and when she turned 15 she discovered painting. She has made many enemies by not giving into corruption and outing many instances of it.

Motivation: To clean up the streets; and she has passion for adventuring and risk
