History: He was born in the west. Because his father participated in the massacre of their homeland, dire rats burned their ranch to the ground and forced them out. He was preparing to flee to the west, but the outbreak of war prevented him and his mother from journeying west to reunite his family. Days after completing his studies, news broke out that his hometown was attacked by dire rats. Dalgal was horrified and prayed that his mother was alright. However, he heard that his mother had died fighting off the dire rats.

Motivation: He wants revenge against dire rats; and many dire rats want him driven away

Personality: She is erratic and paranoid. She believes brigands are coming to abduct people. She is skeptical of what others tell her and is slow to trust.

History: A child with a great deal of writing talent her parents made sure she got the chance to thrive. Her mother was a mechanic, and taught her how to fix just about anything. She has taken up leadership of the village's small militia in response to brigands demanding more tribute than usual.

Motivation: A deep hatred of brigands; and revenge

Personality: He cares much about the opinion of others, both in good and in bad: when keeping in line with his opinion, he thinks highly of the other person, but when opinions clash, he can get violently argumentative. Further he is a bit of a stoner and is frequently out of it.

History: He was raised in a plains tribe. While studying, he fell in love. They married and had a son. He now mingles about in high society.

She wears a blue collared shirt and green skirt. She accessorizes with a brown scarf around the waist and a strap diagonally across her shirt. Her hair is auburn and very short. She wears large thick round spectacles.

Personality: While she is on the job, she is grim and serious. She understands how dangerous the world is and the need to stay safe. She also has developed a complete distrust of the Barrister profession.

History: Sold as a small child to a brothel owner, Carlin was an assistant, and all too frequently test subject. She eventually earned her freedom when her former master disappeared. Her family was being driven out of business by several neighboring competitors. The mother sought out extralegal help and others began closing their doors. She saw this and took pride in her mother's willingness to do anything to win. She moves from town to town, unable to find a place to settle.

History: He comes from a rich northern family. In his 13th year, while out on a day-trip, he returned to find his hometown burning and destroyed. He found his father impaled in their home, and his mother beheaded. He saw the man who walked out, and charged him in a blind rage. The man easily evaded and defeated him, leaving him to live broken and terrified. He was recently attacked on the road and savagely beaten by bandits.

Motivation: He is wracked by social anxiety; and he has money and likes to spend it
