History: She was born to a pair of big game hunters, but was frequently ill as a child. Her spouse left her for another, whom she beat to an almost bloody pulp. She did not win them back, but she came to a realization. To get what you want from life, you must take it. During her travels, Shadow and her party rested in a cavern that was (unknown to them) infused with powerful dark magic. Upon awakening, Shadow discovered the rest of her party dead, transformed into horrible, mindless undead versions of their former selves. Shadow fled the cavern, stopping for breath at a small pool, and only then realizing her own horrible transformation.

His parents divorced when he was young, and his mother gained full cudstody. He was regularly beaten by his mother, who blamed him for driving them apart. He was always very intelligent and has formed a secret society of specialists.

History: The child of northern immigrants he idolized his father. In his 16th year, his parents were killed by a gnolls raid, leaving Gerald alone in the world. After a stint in an orphanage, he was adopted. He has taken up leadership of the village's small militia in response to gnolls demanding more tribute than usual.

Motivation: He loathes his own lifestyle.

Personality: She is overprotective of those who hire her services. The war was a terrible time for her, and Puyet does not often speak of it. When she does, she does so with a strained expression and tears in her eyes.

History: The child of a Cook, who enjoyed hunting, Puyet was taken on many hunting expeditions. Her mother was a soldier and died while she was still young. Puyet was left her mother's suit of armor and trained in its use and care. She eventually got the idea of being the protector of her homeland from reading books, and has made it her duty.
