History: Nykkan was born into a poor family. Growing up, he dreamt of becoming a Cleric, to bring honor to his family’s name. When he came of age, he applied for a position with his town's local guard, looking to work his way up via merit and eventually become a Cleric in service of a powerful lord somewhere. Through the years after Nykkan was born, his mother became increasingly distant from his family, instead choosing to pursue power in the north. Nykkan's mother didn't care for him much, and the feeling was mutual. Lacking all sense, he decided to go on an adventure. He picked a direction and started trekking.

History: She was a bastard born out of an affair, and her mother always resented and mistreated her for it out of spite. She was an adventurer many years ago and she formed a blood bond with her Dragonborn companion (her 'brother'). During her travels, Helgret and her party rested in a cavern that was (unknown to them) infused with powerful dark magic. Upon awakening, Helgret discovered the rest of her party dead, transformed into horrible, mindless undead versions of their former selves. Helgret fled the cavern, stopping for breath at a small pool, and only then realizing her own horrible transformation.
