History: Rathkran was born into a poor family. Growing up, he dreamt of becoming a Expert, to bring honor to his family’s name. When he came of age, he applied for a position with his town's local guard, looking to work his way up via merit and eventually become a Expert in service of a powerful lord somewhere. When money was particularly tight he was walking through alleys when he overheard a Bounty Hunter hiring some criminals to sabotage a competitor. He made his way to the other competitor and parlayed his knowledge into a job. He is searching for what he claims is his rightful reward.

Personality: Stoic and calm, he prefers to meditate than take action. He believes the world needs to unite to get rid of gnolls once and for all.

History: He was born into a rich family. His parents were killed by gnolls in a raid when he was still a young child. The gnolls captured him, and made him a slave and general play-thing. He was beaten and tortured regularly, leading to his deformed appearance. He knows his nephew is from a royal line that had remained secret for centuries, but promised not to tell anyone. So far, no-one knows but him.

Motivation: He wants revenge against gnolls.

Description: She tends to wear a heavy leather apron. Coupled with her rolled up shirt sleeves this gives her a very relaxed look. She is physically well-built. Her crest, while still mostly brass, has prominent grey streaks. Her face is covered beneath a completely black helmet.

Personality: She is not truly malevolent, but she is obsessed with writing. She constantly tries to fill her life with writing. Her philosophy is that everyone needs a friend and as such shows hospitality towards all.

History: A child with a great deal of writing talent her parents made sure she got the chance to thrive. She struck it rich when she found rare goods in large quantities. She has taken up leadership of the village's small militia in response to illithids demanding more tribute than usual.
