History: She was born to a criminal king-pin and mafia family When she was little, her rather wealthy family often ventured across the island to a summer home near a ruined castle. She would wander through that ruined castle and adventure through it for days. One day while adventuring a terrible storm took place and she was stranded inside. Her family spent the next few days looking for her, and could only assume she was dead when it came time to leave. The family never returned to the island due to the painful memories there. Meriele took refuge in the ruined castle and found the beat up shortspear and armor she uses now. She was recently attacked on the road and savagely beaten by bandits.

History: Born to a pair of adventurers, Adelard grew up listening to his mother's many stories. He modeled his life after the story, seeing himself destined a hero. He became a plane-shifter, and is stopping over on this plane for a brief visit.

He made his way to the other competitor and parlayed his knowledge into a job. He's since become an addict/alcoholic.
