She was a general practitioner in the north for years, until she, through no fault of her own, lost a patient who had a very powerful family. Rather than risk reprisal she made her way east. After a long history of fighting, Flame and her spouse have recently divorced.

She saw the woman who walked out, and charged her in a blind rage. The woman easily evaded and defeated her, leaving her to live broken and terrified. Days after completing her studies, news broke out that her hometown was attacked by illithids. Vaina was horrified and prayed that her father was alright. However, she heard that her father had died fighting off the illithids.

Motivation: Her name or reputation has been wronged in the past by illithids, and she desires to right it; and revenge

History: She was born several months after her father was called into army service. She was an athlete and attended two major summer competitions. She never won. She knows her nephew is from a royal line that had remained secret for centuries, but promised not to tell anyone. So far, no-one knows but her.
