History: She was born to a criminal king-pin and mafia family Her parents died when she was young, and she was unceremoniously dumped in the city orphanage. Mara grew up in the orphanage, tormented by the older kids and famished from lack of food. To avoid death by starvation, most orphans take to a life of crime or prostitution (often both), and so did Mara. She hopes to save up enough money to one day pay a cleric to cure her.

History: She was a bastard born out of an affair, and her father always resented and mistreated her for it out of spite. Her spouse left her for another, whom she beat to an almost bloody pulp. She did not win them back, but she came to a realization. To get what you want from life, you must take it. She was betrayed by a partner and left for dead, teaching her a humbling lesson in trusting others.
