History: Sold as a small child to a slaver, Hogar was an assistant, and all too frequently test subject. He eventually earned his freedom when his former master disappeared. In his 12th year, his parents were killed by a giants raid, leaving Hogar alone in the world. After a stint in an orphanage, he was adopted. Days after completing his studies, news broke out that his hometown was attacked by giants. Hogar was horrified and prayed that his father was alright. However, he heard that his father had died fighting off the giants.

History: Born in the south to a Cartwright, Hugh learned a great deal about his father's area of expertise. His family was turned out during the war. He and his family wandered south to less war torn lands. He's also a talented Knight, but doesn't like to broadcast it.

History: He was born the only child of a wealthy merchant. He was an adventurer many years ago and he formed a blood bond with his Human companion (his 'brother'). He has became unsatisfied with his lot in life, and decided to take up adventuring.

Personality: Lance is depressed about a lot of things. He tends to be a nihilist. He does not regard money as being a problem because it has never been a problem for him. He lives in a bit of an ivory tower believing all problems are one quick intervention away from being solved.

History: His parents moved while he was still in utero so he is the first generation to be born here. Being born in the south, he completed his medical training abroad so as to avoid the war. He returned after the war having achieved medical proficiency. He was a general practitioner in the south for years, until he, through no fault of his own, lost a patient who had a very powerful family. Rather than risk reprisal he made his way east. He has built up a small fortune and can afford his own way.

Personality: She is enamored with her job. She loves it. She likes the challenge and she likes helping those less fortunate than her. She is a bit of a macho woman and will challenge people to random contests of strength and skill, and invite them to random hunting and fishing trip.

History: Ranala was raised in a hard working conservative environment. In her youth she was a Shepherd, and wanted to be a champion fighter when she grew up. She was working during a period of war, and as one of the natives she lived in fear of joining the others in being slaughtered. She saw the brutality and swore off her fighting aspirations, taking her younger brother on her back after seeing her parents die, and fled the country. She has drifted from career to career and currently works as a Healer.
