She was an adventurer many years ago and she formed a blood bond with her Half-Elven companion (her 'brother'). Some 6 years later her spouse died after the birth of her daughter. A notion that was reinforced by her attractiveness, a trait in which she easily excels the other women of her town. Lacking all sense, she decided to go on an adventure. She picked a direction and started trekking.
