Because they were valued, her mother taught her to defend herself. When her mother died while fighting drow, the young Kite began to lead the lost caravan. She now has a substantial network of resources ranging from contacts to ships to peers.

History: He was born to loving parents in a slum to the south. Manfred was a troubled youth. He spent his days as a hard laborer instead of attending school, and spent his evenings with numerous mobsters and gang members. Manfred decided he wanted neither the life of his mother nor that of the evil petty criminals he associated with. During his early adolescence, he took a sudden opportunity while working the docks and commandeered a vessel that was left unmanned. Recently he has begun working with bootleggers and crooks.
