He was working during a period of war, and as one of the natives he lived in fear of joining the others in being slaughtered. He saw the brutality and swore off his fighting aspirations, taking his younger brother on his back after seeing his parents die, and fled the country. He has taken up work as a Guard and fed both sides of the war false information with the goal of increasing casualties.

History: Born in the west to a Carpenter, Mardred learned a great deal about her father's area of expertise. She was one of the best in her class, and was picked up by her current employer. She quickly showed her capability and was soon promoted to a head role. She was always very intelligent and has formed a secret society of philosophers.

She had to support her now crippled mother and took her mother's old job. When her spouse passed she lost her only source of income but claims to her daughters to still be retired.

Motivation: Retire the richest woman in the north; and doesn't want to be a butcher and was forced into it by her family
