History: He comes from a rich northern family. His father had invested heavily in several trade routes and wanted him to inherit them. He was recently attacked on the road and savagely beaten by bandits.

Motivation: He loathes his own lifestyle; and he has money and likes to spend it

History: Raised by wardens he was only a novice when dire rats swooped upon their monastery and killed most of the order. Through the years after Frederick was born, his mother became increasingly distant from his family, instead choosing to pursue power in the east. Frederick's mother didn't care for him much, and the feeling was mutual. Days after completing his studies, news broke out that his hometown was attacked by dire rats.
