History: His psionic talent manifested at a young age. Aiming to upstage a rival house, his parents had him trained. His parents died when he was young, and he was unceremoniously dumped in the city orphanage. Bertram grew up in the orphanage, tormented by the older kids and famished from lack of food. To avoid death by starvation, most orphans take to a life of crime or prostitution (often both), and so did Bertram. Being a Cartwright kept his interest for a while, but then he became depressed and bored. So he turned to a secret life of crime, taking increasingly more risks and challenges.

He made a point of taking high paying jobs and getting most of it up front. He then took over the family business and is one of the better Dilettante for hire.

The family's rival house kidnapped his sister with the intent that his sister marry their son to gain control of contested properties. Due to his spouse's obsession with being a Detective they were divorced and he won custody of their daughter. He worked as a Adventurer, and he later adopted a second daughter.

Her hazel eyes lackadaisically let the world flow into them.

Personality: She likes to brag about her accomplishments and constantly tries to beat others to the punch. She has a small toy that she constantly fidgets with.

History: She was born several months after her mother was called into army service. Through the years after Harriet was born, her mother became increasingly distant from her family, instead choosing to pursue power in the west. Harriet's mother didn't care for her much, and the feeling was mutual. She was betrayed by a partner and left for dead, teaching her a humbling lesson in trusting others.

History: He served in the navy to pay for his family's outstanding loans. When money was particularly tight he was walking through alleys when he overheard a Fisher hiring some criminals to sabotage a competitor. He made his way to the other competitor and parlayed his knowledge into a job. He has never given up on his writing dream.
