History: Born in a small village she learned the ways of the warrior from her father. She couldn't stand her childhood mentor and eventually formed a pact with her mentor's previously failed apprentice to rebel. When their plan failed the mentor lashed out against both of them and fled. Recently a tribe of drow attacked the village and all able bodies who could hold a blade were quickly armed and sent to the walls. Ranala fought at the side of some of the regions greatest heroes but was never overshadowed.

History: His arcane talent manifested at a young age. Aiming to upstage a rival house, his parents had him trained. His parents died when he was young, and he was unceremoniously dumped in the city orphanage. Thorpe grew up in the orphanage, tormented by the older kids and famished from lack of food. To avoid death by starvation, most orphans take to a life of crime or prostitution (often both), and so did Thorpe. He has set out to sabotage the competition.

History: Ugarth lived on a farm with his mother, near the main road leading to a nearby town. From his teen years he was always beautiful and desirable, so people have always doted on him. Due to his spouse's obsession with being a Shepherd they were divorced and he won custody of their son. He worked as a Stableman, and he later adopted a second son.

History: Rinn was born the youngest of three triplets. She sought a place where she would be rewarded solely on the merits of her skills. This search led her directly into Bather work with an outfit from a few towns over. Bather work suited her well, and with each successful project, she earned more gold and more respect from her peers. She has worked as a Bather like her father before her.

History: He was raised in a white middle class family as the only child. When he came of age, he joined a caravan that would eventually take him to the capital. He would practice along the way and, when he arrived, be apprenticed to a Blacksmith. Unlike his family, who was content to work in a sleepy main town, he wanted to work in the city. He has been working here for the past few years.

Motivation: To find somewhere to settle down; and further expansion of business
