History: She was a bastard born out of an affair, and her father always resented and mistreated her for it out of spite. Through the years after Verna was born, her father became increasingly distant from her family, instead choosing to pursue power in the west. Verna's father didn't care for her much, and the feeling was mutual. She has taken up leadership of the village's small militia in response to goblins demanding more tribute than usual.

Motivation: She wants revenge against goblins; and her name or reputation has been wronged in the past by goblins, and she desires to right it

History: He got into the Cook business at a young age. He has chosen to use the inheritance that was left to him frivolously. He has worked as a Cook like his father before him.

Personality: He is erratic and paranoid. He believes dire rats are coming to abduct people. More though he will beg to come along on any journeys. He will attempt to stowaway on any ship he can in the hopes that it will get him further away.

History: He was born a particularly ugly child, much to the horror of his parents. A gypsy cursed him at a young age, leading to his ugly appearance. He was recently attacked on the road and savagely beaten by bandits.

Motivation: Someone believes him a fraud; and a deep hatred of dire rats
