Cockaby was born on a far northern island where he grew up under the tutelage of his father, an expert Bookbinder. He tends to his Bookbinder job now, and dutifully fulfills any obligations he has.

Personality: He speaks before he thinks and is too direct. He is skeptical of what others tell him and is slow to trust.

History: When he was but 3 years old his parents immigrated from the south. He was part of a huge silver rush, which was taken over by a mining company. The company confiscated a lot of silver, but the shipment was lost. He was recently attacked on the road and savagely beaten by bandits.

Motivation: His spouse's relatives view him with great suspicion; and he wants to meet his childhood hero

Personality: He is fixated on the number 35. He counts his steps and bites of food to keep in track with it. He seems to be used to being ignored and not questioned about it. Animals are drawn to him, and he is able to talk to them.

History: He was born on a small isolated farm. He always admired divine-users and wanted to develop the talent, but never had the affinity for it. He now has a substantial network of resources ranging from contacts to ships to peers.

Personality: She will use flattery and sarcasm to attack and weaken her opponents. Despite her formidable combat skills she remains a coward. She is however greedy and will demand payment and proof of collateral's value and will produce a merchant's scale to make sure she is not cheated out of a speck.

History: Born to a poor family in the city she treasured whatever gifts she got. Since her father passed away years ago, her mother had doted on her, and she came to think her herself as special and better than other people in town. A notion that was reinforced by her attractiveness, a trait in which she easily excels the other women of her town. She now travels the world, in search of power and loot.
