History: He was born the only child of a wealthy merchant. His parents died when he was young, and he was unceremoniously dumped in the city orphanage. Nicholas grew up in the orphanage, tormented by the older kids and famished from lack of food. To avoid death by starvation, most orphans take to a life of crime or prostitution (often both), and so did Nicholas. He has been a successful dealer in antiques buying low and selling high.

Personality: She exudes charisma. She is a tour de force of persuasion. When she's not drinking or sleeping the drinks off, she's doing writing.

History: Damaia was born into a poor family. Growing up, she dreamt of becoming a Adept, to bring honor to her family’s name. When she came of age, she applied for a position with her town's local guard, looking to work her way up via merit and eventually become a Adept in service of a powerful lord somewhere. From her teen years she was always beautiful and desirable, so people have always doted on her. She has drifted apart from her friends and has been working freelance.
